Having problems clearing formatting to your text? Copying and pasting content into a new press release can bring hidden formatting that control what the text looks like. It's quite annoying - but there are ways to prevent it.

When you copy content from a rich text editor like Microsoft Word or Google Docs, hidden HTML code is included and leaves your text with strange formatting, making it difficult to format the text the way you want. Even though the text editor in Clipsource offers the possibility to clear formatting, it might not remove everything.

How can I clear all formatting?
One effective way to remove formatting - before pasting the text into the text field - is use the plain text option on your computer. If you use a PC the text editor is called Notepad. On Mac it's called TextEdit.

Find Notepad on Windows:

1. Click on Start or the Windows orb logo on the taskbar at the bottom of the desktop to show the Start menu.
2. Click on Programs or All Programs to show a menu of installed programs in Windows.
3. Click on the Accessories folder to expand it.
4. Click on the Notepad icon to open the program.
   
   
   
   
5. Paste the text into the text editor. Upon pasting, all formatting will be removed.
6. Copy and paste the plain text into your text editor field to your new press release/post. You should now be able to format the text without issues.

1. Locate your Applications folder or Launchpad and open it.
2. Open TextEdit.
   
   
   
   
3. Create a new document and paste the text into the text editor. Mark the text you want to clear from formatting.
4. Select Format in the menu and choose Make plain text. Convert the document into plain text by clicking yes.
5. Copy and paste the content into the text field to your new press release/post. You should now be able to format the text without issues.
